Once upon our time there lived a beautiful Queen and her King, in a special land called Hatfieldadelphia. This Queen and her King had 8 kids, and 43 grandkids. But most special of all was that 32 of those 43 grandchildren were girls! Having a special place in their hearts for their little princess grandchildren, the Queen and King of Hatfieldadelphia decided to have special parties just for them, where they could play and dance and have fun.

A few years later, the Queen and King were visiting a different Kingdom, called Frankfurt, Germany, where they met a special African Princess. This Princess’ family was back in a land called Kenya, where people were struggling to survive. Children didn’t have supplies for school, families didn’t have access to clean water, and medical care was scarce. The Queen and King of Hatfieldadelphia began to help the people of Kenya and called their efforts “In Our Own Quiet Way.”
Returning to Hatfieldadelphia, it occurred to the King that he could invite all of the little princesses of Utah (and beyond) to join his sweet princess granddaughters in fun, adventure and magic while also helping the people of Kenya. In 2008, the first annual Princess Festival was held, and has continued to be the Queen and King’s favorite time of year (even more than Christmas)!
A portion of net proceeds from the Princess Festival is always donated to In Our Own Quiet Way to benefit the people of Kenya.
In 2010, Quiet Way finished the construction of an orphan feeding center; provided scholarships to orphaned students; and built dams throughout Kenya as a permanent solution to drought problems. Currently, Quiet Way is focused on mapping water resources in Kenya with GIS technology. To learn more about Quiet Way, please visit www.quietway.org.
Always remember – by participating in this event, you AND your little princes and princesses are truly making the world a better place. The Princess Festival is an opportunity to be a part of a real-life fairy tale, changing the lives of those who have been waiting for a hero to step in and give a helping hand.
